Collection: Grapefruit
Grapefruit essential oil is extracted from the peel of the fruit. It is historically known for its aromatic scent and is therefore widely used in aromatherapy. The composition of the oil and its olfactory properties may vary by species. The extraction method involves cold extraction of the peel of the fruit and gives a distinctly colored greenish-yellow liquid with a sharp citrus scent. The scent is reminiscent of sweet orange oil, but with a bit of bitterness. Grapefrt essential oil is one of the main ingredients of various citrus mixtures, as well as woody aromatic and generally summer compositions. Depending on the grapefrt color, fragrant notes range from the bitter and sharp notes present with white grapefruit to the sweet and sensual tones of pink and red grapefrt.
