LEONARDA is a bold and unsettling fragrance inspired by the historical figure Leonarda Cianciulli, known as the Soapmaker of Correggio. A woman driven by superstition, obsession, and a distorted form of maternal devotion, whose story still provokes unease and fascination.

Created by SPIRITICA, LEONARDA is the first fragrance of the Crime Collection—a series that explores the thin line between madness and love, guilt and justice, darkness and human vulnerability.

The concept was envisioned by Daniele Muratori Caputo, founder of SPIRITICA, in collaboration with Ariosto, an influencer and expert in perfumery and criminal psychology. The olfactory structure was masterfully composed by perfumer Paolo Cerizza.

The opening is unexpectedly clean and disturbing: Marseille soap evokes purity and ritual, contrasted by a sharp peppery accord that recalls caustic tension and unease. Beneath this clarity, a dusty, gourmand depth begins to emerge—suggesting that nothing is as innocent as it appears.

At the heart, comfort and disquiet intertwine. Fresh Chantilly cream and homemade biscuit accords create a welcoming sweetness, suddenly disrupted by a raspberry syrup note with a subtle metallic nuance—an unsettling contrast between tenderness and violence.

The base reveals the fragrance’s true gravity. Opulent oud merges with dark chocolate and alchemical, sulphur-like notes, opening the door to a shadowed, unexplored territory. The result is a powerful extrait with an intense, long-lasting, unforgettable sillage.
